I had planned to take the kids out for a little sun and sand with the sprinkler before dinner yesterday. As is my habit to name
everything, I called it The Great Sand & Sun Fest of 2012. And I built it up all day long to Mr. Pants. Obviously, this kept him on his very best behavior. Thinking about pushing your sister? Don't forget about The Great Sand & Sun Fest, lil dude and proceed with caution. For Mr. Pants, this is more persuasive than Santa Claus. Because I am big on keeping my word. He knew I wasn't blowing smoke up his butt. If I say we were having a sun and sand party, he knows what's what and believes it. I don't throw around that kind of shiz lightly.
So when what can only be described as a frignany monsoon unleashed over our house, I was sad.
But then the storm. I thought our plans were ruined. And as I watched my boys face go from "YAY!" to "this whole world sucks", I knew that nature was in fact about to make me his favorite parent. So while we waited out the storm, we decorated him with stickers and ate choclate pudding. Then it was time. And just like that...
Sand & Sun Fest became, The Slosh and Mosh Party in the Backyard 2012.
