We knew full well there would be low-lights mixed in with the highlights (Can I get a witness in the crowded dining hall?). We knew that there would be times when we would consider selling one or both of the children to a loving Unitarian Universalist family and hopping a flight to Cancun. This last week, Tuesday was that day. And Monday night. There were a few hours of Thursday. And this morning was just about as miserable as you'd think it would be when your husband is barfing all morning while trying to pack up our rooms and carry all of our stuff up a hill to the van while two very angry and tired (and naked!) babies ran the halls of the college dorm like drunken sailors. Yep, those were the low-lights.
Screw the low-lights.
Because the highlights, oh the highlights! They were worth it all. New friends. Old friends. Hallways of toddlers running naked. I taught a class on connecting with children through art and I didn't muck it up! I have no words for the amazing bits and pieces we experienced this week. It's entirely possible though that I have no words because I am certain there has ever been a day when I was more tired than I am right now typing this post. No joke, dudes. I had more energy after my c-section bringing home a newborn with toddler running around. I stared at this computer for about 40 minutes before I typed a word. That never happens to me. NEVER. I am a straight up zombie tonight. So I thought I'd share the highlights with photographs.
You know, just in case you needed inspiration to create your very own gravel angel in your driveway.
I mean...just look at these babies dancing.
