I try to keep things in some kind of order. But try as I might there are always toys in the living room and the toilet paper is never on the holder. Our clean dishes seem to always be drying on a towel, rarely finding their way back home to the cabinets. Beds are never made and furniture is usually pulled out or pushed back. I'm not even going to describe the laundry situation beyond that it is, in fact, a situation.

I don't have a ton of rules. Because I'm a rule breaker myself so the rules that we do have have to be kept. Some of our rules include: Don't hurt with your body or your words. Don't pee on the floor or on each other. I don't repair intentionally broken toys. I will meet you where you are developmentally, just don't throw yourself into the new flat screen TV.

Another is that I really want the bedding to remain in the bedrooms. We have enough extra blankets and pillows to use for living room snuggles and I just don't want graham cracker crumbs and apple juice spittle all over the comforter that I bury my face into at night. Or butts. I don't want butts and dirty feet on my clean blanket. Because the sweet lawd knows my kids can't stay clothed.

But sometimes your baby boy has a long day. And you know he needs some comfort and quick. It's hard to be 3 1/2 when the emotions take over. Sometimes what you really need to make life ok, is a mountain bed. And you can't make a mountain bed without getting every single blanket and pillow and bean bag chair in the house. You need it all. You need everything. All of it.

And who am I to say no to a mountain bed?

Wow! You really can't feel the pea under there, can you? ;-) Too cute! My kids love to bring their blankets into the living room and lay on the floor to watch movies. I really can't say no to that-comfy rules!

My mom (who had 4 kids) once said that every once in a great while, the kid gets to win too :)

Now I want a mountain bed.

You're a good mom.

Dude. I need a mountain bed.

Also, those rules you have are good rules. You should make an etsy shop and put them on cardboard in Comic Sans writing and sell them. They'd be a hit. heh
