I took a bit of a vacation from blogging last week. I didn't mean to. It just happened.
I spent mornings laying in bed and playing with the kids. We read books and got to the serious business of jumping, snuggling and giggling. All the pillows and blankets in one bed.
Oh and also toys. The toys came to bed too.
I applied for the job of assistant bed tent/fort support and I totally got the job.
And Plum offered fashion support as I cleaned out all the junk totes in the hallway.
There was the pumpkin farm, a tent full of straw that needed played in
and a snake in the backyard to stare at.
I went to a benefit for the women and children living in our local domestic violence shelter and a seed of inspiration was planted (More on that in a later post).

We went to church. We played outside. We ate a lot of bacon.
Plum only wanted to wear her rainbow pants so I let her.
We watched a new movie called White Lion that captivated Mr. Pants. I
can't show you the whole picture of him watching stretched out across the recliner though. I don't need to tell you it's because he was buck nekkid, right?
 Here's his head.
We made huge strides getting back to normal after a few weeks in flux. We did that by going slow, playing, singing and taking a lot of baths. I did that by ditching the writing for a week in favor of extra cooking demos, puzzles and dance parties.

And we finally arrived here in comfort town.
Things are coming. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are like tomorrow. The first snow is something that will make me cry. I'm a sap like that.  I am so excited. Like to a ridiculous level. And I'm inspired. Just in general. Because life is good.

And this little family of mine keeps reminding me of that.

What kinds of things do you do to reconnect with your people?

Looks like a very nice relaxing week . . . except that SNAKE. Good grief. It looks big. How were you sure it was okay? I love having them around here to gulp down a rodent or two but I much prefer they stay under the house not in the pile of leaves, I'm about to rake up.

It is great to see that there is some normal coming back to you! I love the way you are happy to take the time away from yourself to bring this into your life. Sometimes we get so used to things we just let it go and accept but you knew there were better days ahead and went after it!! Adorable photos!!! shanascott.blogspot.com

What a great week! Except the snakes. I'm totally over snakes after our many encounters in recent months.

Looks like a great week and a great reason to step away from blogging for a bit. I've had to a lot lately too. Just so many things going on. Fall is keeping us busy!

Great photos. Ick snake.
I am currently all about our local domestic violence women's shelter adn I am emailing my contact once a week giving her stuff before we move. I love giving it to her. I want to help these women- if I was staying I would absolutely be doing more. I look forward to reading about what you're inspired about!

That's wonderful! There are shelters everywhere. Let me know if you need help finding your local shelter when you move! They will need the help too :)

I've taken a couple unplanned breaks from blogging recently, and while I missed it a bit, I enjoyed just being with my family. And reading - I've done a lot more reading than I had been. I love that toddler belly - and the Wonder Woman shirt with the colorful striped pants is an awesome outfit!
